Backs you into a camorra tale by way of the narrator's recall of the boys he used to play soccer with as a kid. The "typical" mob plot only shows up about halfway through, by which point you've started to buy into the idea of a universe that revolves around soccer... but no, it revolves around the mob. The first Saviano I've read, and definitely not the last.
